NBA Elite 11 canceled, surprised?
Remember when there were two basketball franchises to look forward to each year? One from 2K Sports and the other from EA Sports? Well after the drama and overall confuzzledness that was the name change of NBA Live to NBA Elite 11, the folks at EA Sports elected to delay and eventually cancel the title.
Anyone surprised by this? After playing the demo for NBA Elite 11, I felt as if I had hit 88 mph on a DeLorean and somehow traveled back to the days of NBA Live 05.
Development from here on out on the NBA Elite franchise will get a “Madden flavor” out at EA Tiburon. Sorry Durantula, it wasn’t your fault.
What say you about this? And do you have faith in the Madden boys to deliver a quality NBA title next year?

Not surprised at all. Funny, I wonder how much money they lost. Didn’t they have that ex-hockey player guy in charge of development because he helped so much with their NHL franchise? Uh, hockey is a lot different from b-ball!

2K in my opinion has always had the best basketball titles. EA couldn’t compete with Jordan! I’m not surprised with this move. I’m sure they will put all their eggs in one basket with NBA Jam now.

They should not think about the name, the name is not important, its the gameplay. I have to agree that 2k is the best compared to any other. Graphics are more realistic. I am not playing any NBA by EA for years.

Just Gimmie NBA JAM… i thought the worst idea was adding nba jam as an accessory to another game… nba jam is no accessory… Thats almost as bad as paying extra money for the gold gun in battlefield bad company a couple yrs back lol
NOBODY PUTS NBA JAM IN THE CORNER!

I’m sure they have a nice 5 or 6 year plan to release 1 new feature yearly, thus maximizing profit while minimizing work. The madden boys are da kings of the yearly minimal change…
