Xbox Live update tomorrow, Nov 1

When you wake up tomorrow the Kinect era officially begins when the latest Dashboard update to your Xbox 360 begins to reign down upon thee.  It’ll transform your Xbox Dashboard in such a way that if you do buy the Kinect sensor, you’ll have all the technical goodies to vibe with Kinect.  This update will also usher in the ESPN feature that was revealed during E3 this  year.

Q: Is there anything I need to do to start the update?

A: Beginning on November 1, 2010, you will receive a notification that an update to Xbox LIVE is available as soon as you start your Xbox 360 console. Use your controller to accept the update according to the on-screen instructions.

Q: What if I decline the service update?

A: If you decline the update, you will not be able to connect to Xbox LIVE until the update is accepted. You will still be able to use all of the offline features of your Xbox 360 console. Xbox LIVE features will be unavailable until the update is complete.

    Is there any other features? I heard it would be ascetically different. I’ve got Time Warner Cable, so I should have access to the ESPN3 feature, right?

    JP, yes you should be able to get EPSN3 on the 360, which I tried on the demo and it was AWESOME.

    downloaded update on both my 360′s, and got e 80 error codes on both. WTF?

    MY UPDATE WILL NOT DOWNLOAD PROPERLY. GET THE ERROR MESSAGE…

    CANT DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE. TO TEST YOUR CONNECTION, OPEN SYSTEM SETTINGS AND SELECT NETWORK SETTINGS, TEST XBOX LIVE CONNECTION.

    IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, GO TO http://WWW.XBOX.COM/SUPPORT..

    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    they may be having problems pushing the update to you…just give it a few minutes and try again.

    Is it just me or is downloading anything from XBL, with the new dashboard, very slow?

    STILL do not like the new dash colors and have been looking for a way to change it since I downloaded the thing….and no more bloop, FAIL
