Here’s a good question to start your week off.  I’m not one to fall for all of the pre-order incentives that are thrown at you from the likes of Gamestop, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy or any other retail chain.  The incentive is usually not worth it at all and there’s usually a huge hassle trying to get the items you were promised.

But I found myself in a local store this weekend dropping $10 on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II to get an exclusive Maulkiller character.  It’s the first time I’ve ever pre-ordered a game believe it or not.  I grabbed the Collector’s Edition for the tin case as well.

“In the cloning facilities of Kamino, Darth Vader created a warrior of unparalleled strength and power by combining the genetic material of Darth Maul, former apprentice of Sith Lord Darth Sidious, with his own apprentice, Starkiller.  The resulting aberrant clone possessed traits from both warriors, but the crude fusion of two disparate Force users quickly produced physical and mental instabilities that led to the unfortunate clone’s destruction. For a brief time he struck fear into the hearts of all who faced him, even Lord Vader himself.”

Doesn’t that sound kick ass and don’t tell me Maulkiller doesn’t look like a bad mofo?  There’s also a silver crystal for his dual Lightsabers!

So my question is why do you pre-order if you do?  What do you look for when deciding to pick a store’s pre-order incentive?
