Xbox.com makeover, plus Avatar editor online now!
It’s shaping up to be a pretty busy couple of weeks for Microsoft and Xbox. First we heard about all the billions of dollars that they’re putting into the Kinect experience and now word on the streets is that they’re redesigning the official website for Xbox. Making-things-look-better-and-easier-to-navigate say what?
One of the most interesting features of the new Xbox.com is that you’ll now be able to edit your Avatar and preview items before you buy them right on the website! That’s the feature I think most people will enjoy.
This is all no doubt the first step in getting the site ready for the launch of Kinect and Windows Phone 7 in particular. You’ll be able to play games right from your Windows Phone 7 phone (yeah that sounds totally stupid).

There are a lot of additional pictures of the new Xbox.com available right here. Those of you interested in seeing the changes for yourself will have to wait until tomorrow when the new site launches.
Other changes include some much needed update to the message interface and friends feature. It looks a lot better and seems like it will function a lot better as well.

Not too sure if I like the direction Microsoft is going by making things look minimalist.
I saw a video for the new dash and it looks like it’s a step back, and the website sort of does too.
I do like the new features that will be added on XBOX.co.uk and any new features that are in the dash update.

It looks bland, cheap & simple… Just what Microsoft wants for Kinect users. :^|

I gotta say, Microsoft has been giving me some major nerd wood as of late. They seem to be working hard in every department may it be Xbox, Windows Phone 7, Office, hotmail/live, expanding Zune into more then just an MP3 but a brand, Windows, etc. I use a lot of Microsoft products/services and while upgrading some things this year, I noticed some huge improvements. Yes there’s a lot of other great options out there but I just had to give Microsoft some props as a whole, they’re trying and doing good so far.

Nerd Wood was a little extreme, sorry….. :’( Microsoft is currently in awesome mode, that was my point… That was totally gross….. dot dot

not sure i’m feeling the massive dosage of white now

Ya, that is a lot of white. Noticed some pages and things are not working right when checking everything out. They will probably be tweaking the new site for some time is my guess.

@ Deac, haha. I knew the massive amount of white wouldn’t be a good idea. Maybe they should have implimented some form of background system where you can change the theme of “My XBOX”.
I’ve only managed to browse through all the stuff once, because they’re “busy playing Halo: Reach”, lol.

The new changes SUCK I’m sorry. The new message area is gross. 1 message takes up 1/4 of the screen now? What’s up with that?!
What’s with the avatar boy throwing a paper airplane at the avatar girl? LAME!
