Alan Wake continues with new content, The Writer

If you haven’t played Alan Wake, then I suggest that you find it somewhere to play it!  It’s a game that deserves its time to shine if for no other reason than to play through Episode Six.  Remedy Entertainment is continuing to push out additional content for the game as well.

In their second downloadable content pack, Wake fights for his life in an increasingly surreal and treacherous world where nightmares are reality, and the greatest danger comes from within. His only hope of survival is the Writer.

“The Writer” concludes the new sequence started with previous DLC, “The Signal.”  Previously, Alan Wake was struggling to make sense of his surroundings in the nightmarish reality he found himself in.  In “The Writer,” he starts to fight back – but it isn’t easy.  Guided by the mysterious Diver, Thomas Zane, he makes a desperate attempt to reclaim his sanity and take control of his life.  In order to do so, he must navigate a landscape that’s at the same time intimately familiar and frighteningly alien, and resist the temptation to succumb to the darkness that still haunts his thoughts.

Alan Wake DLC2

In the “The Writer,” the world has become more imaginative and surprising than ever, featuring impressive and atmospheric environments that illustrate precisely how far from his comfort zone Wake has been taken, and how dangerous the threat that haunts him truly is.

It’s available for 560 Microsoft Points so if you’re looking to “wake up” some more, then head out to download it.  I’d love to see a proper sequel to this game.

In your Alan Wake review you said the characters were bland, with 1 exception. Have they remedied this in the DLC at all?

I really enjoyed The Writer. I played through it last night and again this morning. The cliffhanger is brilliant and certainly makes me crave “Return”. Do you think it will take another 6 years? LOL.

i loved playing this game, I’m thinking about getting this DLC. I hope they will continue with this IP, but i hear the sales were low.

I hope they will make a decent sequel.
