Devil May Cry reboot, Dante gets younger

I’m not sure how I feel about the reboot that Capcom has ordered for their Devil May Cry series.  I’m a pretty big fan of Dante and his kick assness….especially the trademark white hair.  But Ninja Theory seems to think that a younger Dante who looks nothing like the series regular is in order for the reboot.  I suppose we can call it Devil May Cry 5 but let’s keep that between us because Capcom seems intent on simply calling it Devil May Cry.

Reboots never go over well in my experience but perhaps this one will.  What say you?

You can take a look at the new Danter after the break.

Care to share the awesome sauce?

Wow!!!! He doesn’t have white hair! Waaaaa bla bla bla bla bla. That’s all I see. It’s Dante as a TEENAGER! not the Dante we’ve been playing for four games. Capcom isn’t that dumb to just change him. He’s obviously gonna turn into the badass we know during the game.

Honestly when I saw the interview the guy said to redefine what made DMC ‘cool’. Seriously. The character of Dante was kick ass to begin with and rebooting it…I dunno. Now he’s an angry, smoking, teenager. Was the old Dante not enough? He didn’t need to smoke and be a raging emo kid to prove he was awesome. Second he said there would be more of a late 70s outlook with a more angry creative energy related to punk. Was the red leather coat n’ black pants not punk enough? Honestly I could care less about the hair, I mean just the fact that we see this new ‘Dante’ character he just doesn’t look as awesome as we know he is.
Possibly I should give it a chance before I continue raging. HOWEVER for me it was a shock because of the sudden complete change from what I know.

I agree to an extent wit ha lot of the negetive views, but in my oppinion, he is a younger version of himself, he is GOING to be more flawed. Dante was semi-emo in the games, this one would just prove how much he changed, grew up as he went along the rough road he had been on. I am definitely going to atleast give it a shot and see what comes of it.

well even his moves are pretty subpar if you look at the gameplay trailer.

nothing needs to be changed about Dante at all. The character is perfect as it is. I agree with everyones thought on how emo he looks. As much as i love Devil May Cry im sorry to say its gonna let us down like when Metal Gear Solid 2 made us play Raiden instead of Snake throughout the game. When something is going good, there no need for change
