Scott Pilgrim was an epic movie, Arcade game close

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was a seriously epic movie in my opinion.  I think it had everything a fanboy could dream of mixed with a healthy dose of over-the-top.  Scott Pilgrim fighting the 7 evil Ex’s was a definite worldwind of a ride.  I enjoyed it a lot.  I didn’t think Michael Cera could pull off anything beyond his usual nerd/George Michael impressions but he did great.

The entire cast was great as a matter of fact.  All of the evil ex-boyfriends (and evil ex-girlfriend) were crazy.  Visually it was ridiculous, the soundtrack was ridiculous, the action was ridiculous and all the clever fanboy placements was madness.  I think I’ll see it again.

The Xbox LIVE Arcade title was also pretty good although after watching the movie, I would’ve loved to have a reboot of the game.  It features a four-player co-op mode where you can fight alongside Stephen Stills, Kim Pine, and Ramona to kick, punch, and beat your way through hordes of hipsters, emos, paparazzi, aliens, flying piggy banks (yes, flying piggy banks!), and much more.  The eight-bit retro-gaming animations were created by the world-famous Pixel Artist Paul Robertson and the game features a soundtrack by chip-tune rockers Anamanaguchi.

The fact that it has co-op though makes you look past the 8-bit glory of the game.  My recommendation is that you definitely go see the movie and if you’re jonesin’ for some more Scott Pilgrim, hit the Xbox Live Arcade title up too when it releases this week.  It’ll cost ya 800 Microsoft Points.

I gave, I am awesome. Look upon my Medal.

I REALLY want to go see this as well as a few other movies but haven’t yet because I suck and all this bed bug talk isn’t helping either. O_o

The game has been fun so far, if you like old school beat em ups then you’ll like this duh. You up your stats by eating food in teh stores!!!! A lot of people seem to miss that and if you don’t buff you’ll get your ass beat.

For some reason I thought this was a PSN exclusive though….. It turns out they just got it early, epic fail on my part for not researching. I would have waited to get it for the 360 if I had know better.

I am buying this right on the spot. If you haven’t watched Pirate Baby’s Cabana Street Fight 2006 then I suggest you do. Its a Youtube video of awesomeness that resembles a video game and the maker of that video help make Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

If you decide to watch the Youtube clip I suggest you be 18 or older because of the hardcore violence and blood.
