Call of Duty multiplayer will not be pay to play
Michael Pachter is a waste of an analyst. His predictions are nothing more than ridiculous guesses based upon his own fantasies. The guy is robbing the system of millions offering up his “analyst” cred. Oh wait, now that I think more about it…the guy is a genius because hell I’d do it to if people would pay me crazy amounts of money to simply take a wild guess about the industry.

His latest “prediction” was that Activision will soon be charging people to play Call of Duty online with consoles. As a matter of fact he urged Activision to go ahead and be the company to set this thing off with Call of Duty: Black Ops because online play is killing the purchasing of new titles. His reasoning is that Activision is losing all kinds of money because kids are stuck inside playing Call of Duty online rather than being out buying new titles.
How does a company continue to pay this guy with a straight face? I could get my six-year old daughter to come up with some better guesses. But I can’t hate the player.
Well as it turns out Activision and a couple of Community Managers working on these Call of Duty titles stated that these games will not be charging you to play them online across Xbox Live or any other console.
What say you? Would you ever pay to play Call of Duty online in addition to your Xbox Live fees?

I didn’t even hear of this till now. O_O That’s not even funny! I feel like slapping Pachter for even speaking this shit and putting it in peoples head…. The day this happens and everyone buys into this is the day I stab my gamer card (Not the 360 one) in the face and never come back…… Unless like ZOE3 or something comes out then I’ll mooch off my cousins till I beat it. :p

If they try to make me pay to play online I will buy a copy of the game, smear it in dog crap and mail it back to them. See the type of BS antics you have guided people towards EA. Ridiculous! Pachter, you sir are a dumbass!

Thank god. I’m pretty sure I’m done with CoD games now though.

The day that they even offer a “premium” service to give some people an “edge”, is the day I stop playing that game/series. Especially if the game has been free for so long already.

lol SR…no way you’d mail that!

@Deacon. Watch me! lol. Might even smear it in my own crap if you create me my own medal for it on U360.

Yep, I think they will just charge for maps like always. This frenzy was started by Michael Pachter from Wedbush but taken out of context by thousands of readers to start this rumor. And under pressure, IW and Activision already said there will be no multiplayer fees.

In my Whitney voice – “Hell to the No!!” I don’t even buy map packs anymore. We have like 30 maps for Halo and only see, maybe, 6 of them in rotation.

No, I will not.
I am not going to even get this game until Treyarch stops making stupid multiplayer achievements (i.e. 0 GS for getting prestige and then another for 10th prestige in World at War). Achievements should always have gamerscore attached to them and not be so time-consuming to do! >_<

[...] of you interested in Call of Duty: Black Ops better be glad that the rumors of it charging for its multiplayer were false. The reason for being glad is that the multiplayer looks like it’s going to kick [...]

I can care less what Michael Pachter thinks, as I’ve been waiting a long time now to buy that Call of Duty: Black Ops for my XBOX 360…
