In Other News – EA’s Golf Club Pack, I am Tiger!
It’s Sunday and I figured why not treat you boys and girls to a little something different. I played a little bit of my Wii this weekend because of the pending battle of motion controls that is about to be waged this holiday season. To the point, I wanted to be Tiger this weekend so I opened the EA Sports Junior Golf Club Pack I had and settled in to play a little Tiger Woods PGA Tour as well as Wii Sports Golf.
I didn’t know I would enjoy being a virtual golfer this much but when you actually have a golf club in your hand, then it’s a bit different. The Junior Golf Club Pack comes with an actual golf club (not a real one but a cool plastic one) that you insert your Wiimote into. So you get to feel as close to natural as you can swinging a golf club instead of just the Wiimote.
I wish it were a little longer but it worked…it really worked. Of course I wasn’t any good in the video game much like I’m not that good in real life. It was a lot of fun though. Just swinging it around and making myself appear to be a real golfer was rather interesting.
That’s the thing the Wii does well. It supports all of these crazy accessories to make the experience at least as real as it could be with a video game. If you have Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10/11 or any of the Wii Sports, then you should pick up a set of these accessories. There’s one for golf, tennis and even baseball. I’ll try to get my hands on them all to share my opinions of them.
I realize this may be a huge shift in the time space continuum because you all know my opinions of the Wii. You should take this to the bank then that if this thing can convince me, it can convince just about anything.
