Xbox 360 Slim unboxing and transfer to 250GB hard drive
To my surprise when I got home yesterday, I had this funny thing waiting for me that looked kind of like a new Xbox 360 S console! I decided to do a quick video to show the data transfer* process and also to show off the Xbox 360 S compared to a regular Elite console.
I hope you enjoy the video! *Kingdom of Keflings and Hexic HD are preinstalled on the hard drive.

I do want to clear up one thing for people who have emailed me asking. “Kinect Ready” on the Xbox 360 S does not mean that it comes with Kinect. What it means is that it is built to support Kinect without the need for any additional power source. For those of you with current Xbox 360 consoles, when you purchase Kinect it will include an extra power source for you to use. Xbox 360 S owners will not need that. They can simply “connect” Kinect to their console and get their motion on.
[Update] – If your transfer cable isn’t prompting you for the transfer and it recognizes your old hard drive as a USB attachment, then unfortunately you’ll need a new or different transfer cable.

Hey dunno if this threads dead or what but I recently got the limited edition gears of war console and I just got the cable to transfer all my old stuff off my crappy console and when I put the cable in the gears one with the old HD attached and there’s no notification and nothing when I got to the end of the dashboard and go on memory and whatnot pretty much tried everything I know regarding moving things between devices on the xbox any help with this? Don’t want it to be wasted money here

well usually all it takes is trying to get the cable to take so just go into your System Memory and click on your hard drive .. that’ll likely get the transfer started.

Nothing pops up when i plugged the cable, and when i went to the memory under system settings, the usb storage shows up instead and asked to configure it…but if i do that then my old HDD datas will be erased!! HELP!!
