I know what you’re thinking.  Why am I getting you excited about a game that doesn’t release until April 2011?  Well because this is a beast of an announcement and debut!  Gears of War 3 will have an alternate version of Horde Mode when it releases called Beast Mode.  In Beast Mode you get to battle against the COG as the Locust Horde in a similar round by round survival battle.

Unlike Horde mode, you have more than one life.  You can be the Skorge, a friggin’ Ticker…each of the Locust are playable.  Killing COGs earns you tokens, which can be spent to respawn into different characters.  Of course these characters have to be unlocked first with the leveling system that will be in place.  So get your “beast” on better than everyone else and you’ll be unlocking quickly. 

I’m ready to revive the dead with the Cantus!  Or explode Marcus as I crawl around being a Ticker.  I just hope they also include Horde Mode because I’m a COG kind of guy.  COG TOWN!
