Project Natal price rumor, may cost $150
Just when you thought your video game habit couldn’t get any more expensive, rumors about Project Natal’s price come floating by. Edge got wind of a rumor that Project Natal on its own will cost you $149 and if you want it bundled in an Xbox 360, $299. Never go full motion as Sgt. Osiris would say and with that price I wouldn’t be able to go full motion even if I wanted to.

This is nearly double what I had anticipated Project Natal would cost. If the pricing holds true, are you going to get your motion on with Project Natal for $150?

I wasn’t going to get Natal anyways. This makes me not want it even more!

if the price stands, i think we can all anticipate the “value” push from Microsoft at E3. they’ll have loads of things to show that will make it a good “value”.
games, pre-packaged and under development etc

Thats higher then I was expecting it to be. I am on the fence. I like some of the features I have seen with it but would only use if for gaming with my kids more than likely. I will probably end up getting it though as I do with most gaming items.

Yeah that is really high ill wait for it to come down.

That price is very extreme. They better have a hell of a library of games to show off with it.

it sounds a bit high, I was thinking $100 but it’s not too bad. I love the caption though. “Never go full motion”.

I still have interest in Natal but at this point it’s only interest. There are still quite a few unknowns for me. While I don’t know what games are being made to work with Natal, I also don’t know if at nearly 40 years of age I am going to want to jump around my living room looking like a lunatic. I understand that the $150 price tag is only a rumor, but if true that is over-the-top. Who knows? Maybe Microsoft saw the huge sales of the iPad and figured everyone has a ton of disposable income and will do the same with Natal.

I was also thinking it would be under $100. Sony is trying to sell their 2 wand combo remotes for around that price. i think MS is just trying to put this info out to see all the “OMG that TOO MUCH” reactions and then come out and say ” we listened to all the gamers and we think under $100 is a good price point”
If it does get released at $150 i’ll wait for a price drop. thanks

you make a good point Dragoon…that strategy has been done to death before so it might be the case.

What am I missing here? Why does everyone think $150.00 is high? I was thinking it would be closer to the $200.00- $300.00 range. I’m actually quite pleased that it is so freaking cheap.

To answer the original posted question, yes I am going to get it and at this price I’ll probably grab the stand alone and a Xbox/Natal bundle. Granted I need to see what games are coming out and what not, but so far this is my plan.

What happend to the first rumor of $50 now that’s a perfect price for the mid/lower classes which right now is most of the country =D

I was thinkin more like 600…. I would have gotten it even if it was 400… but this is even better….
June 13th, 2010 at 7:07 pm
well you’re insane if you would’ve paid 400-600

We need to ask ourselves one important question here gamers, with the rumor that microsoft wishes to ignore the 5 year life for a console. ” Is project Natal enough”? At 150 bucks we are getting close to the price of a whole new console. In my opinion microsoft is trying to adapt the Wii into our xboxes and asking us to pay top dollar for it. I will say one thing though, they have sure taken thier sweet time. I sure hope that translates directly into a great product. I think i will wait a month or so before buying one to see what the gamers of the world think about this before running out to jump on the band wagon.

For me I am not willing to pay a high price as I am probably not going to use it for actual gamming. I will only want it for the communications, menu navigation and voice recognition. I figure the cost of the current 360 add ons that can allow you to do some of this are about $75 so add 25 or 50 bucks for the convience id pay NO MORE than $150!
