Game Room debuts on Xbox 360
Well it’s finally here. The place for you to play all kinds of classic Arcade titles for various amounts of Microsoft Points. Haven’t you always wanted to be able to download classic games and play them with friends? Oh wait…you mean the Xbox LIVE Arcade doesn’t already do this? *scratches head*

(queue it up from Xbox.com right here)
I suppose the Game Room is a bit more specific in nature than the current XBLA. Whatever the case may be, it’s now available as a free download. It lets you relive the glory days of classic arcade and console games in their original forms. Yeah so don’t expect any retro updates.
Your avatar will take part in the original sights, sounds and gameplay that will make these retro games come alive on your Xbox 360 and Windows-based PC in one fast, fun experience. Game Room will bring you a library of original classics like “Centipede®” and “Asteroids Deluxe®” from Atari Inc. and other favorites from Intellivision, Konami Corp, and more.
Players have three options: 400 Microsoft Points grants a dual-platform license for one game (for unlimited play on Xbox 360 and PC), 240 Microsoft Points gets you the virtual arcade cabinet on one platform (Xbox 360 or PC), or 40 Microsoft Points is just “two quarters” worth of playtime on a select title.
With weekly new title releases, your arcade will soon be retrofitted to perfection. I’m not sure how much any customization will cost ya. Challenge your friends to beat your high score by sending custom challenges and taunts across platforms, earn Achievements, unlock levels, and climb your way to the top of the universal leaderboards.
What say you?

I gave it a try, and it’s pretty cool. From what I saw, it has a nice selection of Old School games.

The possibility of them releasing classic Dreamcast games on Game Room has me intrigued.. But as it stands now , it’s not terribly exciting.

I tried it, and the interface was confusing. It was clunky, and all the games were dumb. I will probably delete it, unless some really cool games come out on it. Otherwise, it is just a waste of space on my hard drive.

yeah the interface was indeed confusing….farmed it for achievements as much as free would allow lol

So many disliked it… I LOVE THAT!
Now how long have I been asking for Dreamcast games? – However, I wanted them redone with HD graphics & widescreen support.

I actually like the arcade, but I don’t plan on picking up too many games. Just some of my favorites as they come out.
