Community Speaks – Blur beta thoughts
Conclusion lawlhalla:
Blur is a good game. It’s fun and the full version probably has a good replay value but it’s not the AAA title I expected from Bizarre Creations. The cars all have different handling but we couldn’t really discern if the one with 3 speed went faster than the one with 2 speed. Also when you’re on first place, it’s actually a lot easier than driving on let’s say third place. If you have to fight through the mob of all the arcade racer noobs, you’ll probably not get very far in the rankings. The first few turns are crucial. On a side note, in the hours we played we’ve only gotten a couple of disconnects and maybe 1 or 2 bugs. So that’s positive. But with ‘Split Second‘ in the running, Bizarre Creations really has to step it up a notch.

Conclusion chronootje88:
I really liked Blur. Normally I’m not really into racing games but the intense action that Blur delivers made me play it again and again and again. Just like Lawlhalla said, we didn’t find any big difference between max speed or acceleration but the difference in handling was noticeable. First place is nearly invincible. The only way to stop the first player is by using shocks (easily evaded with some driving skills) or the number 2 using shunts. All in all I had a lot of fun playing the Blur multiplayer beta and I’m excited to see the full product in action.
Positive points
-Fast, intense arcade race action.
-Good multiplayer aspect, both with leveling, unlocks and modifications.
Negative points
-Waiting….waiting, and more waiting.
-Graphics and sound are so-so.
-First place is almost invincible

I really like the beta. It has been especially fun with more people. I’ll probably at least rent it.

Nice long write up Law man… I only hope the best for Bizarre Creations, but Activision can go to Hell.
