Community Speaks – Blur beta thoughts
Here’s a new article from the community (way in the Netherlands) on the latest beta to hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace…Blur. Grab a seat and try to keep up!

Developer: Bizarre Creations
Publisher: Activision
Introduction
Blur, a racing game that is being developed by one of my favorite game studios, Bizarre Creations, has released a closed beta. Me and my good friend Chronootje88 both got a code from Deacon and we’ve been playing this beta for a long time now. Here’s a bit of what we think about it.
Do note: this is not the finished game and it is still limited in scope. The part we’ll be talking about is only the Multiplayer.
Made by the masters behind Project Gotham Racing and Metropolis Street Racer, Blur is a racing project by Bizarre Creations that aims to take arcade-style action and realistic driving physics to a whole new level. The game drops players into heart-pumping, electrified racing action with 20 cars on a track all targeting the finish line and battling each other as they trade paint and collect intense power-ups, including the ability to blast other cars out of the way with huge bursts of energy, boost their speed, and more.
While controlling photo-realistic cars, gamers can use offensive and defensive attacks as they battle for the lead and careen through real-world track locations ranging from L.A. and San Francisco to the streets of Hackney, UK and the treacherous roads of Barcelona, Spain.
Graphics and Sound
I’m not really a graphics-whore or an audiophile but where Project Gotham Racing 2 blew me away with all of that, I found Blur to be a bit lacking. Yes I know Project Gotham 2 is old but I’m comparing with release dates in mind. Don’t get me wrong, Blur looks pretty good but it’s just nothing special. With all the quick action you won’t have any time to pay attention to the scenery anyway.

I really like the beta. It has been especially fun with more people. I’ll probably at least rent it.
