Halo: Reach, more info, more Halo: CE?
I’m not going to revisit my back and forth love affair with Halo. I started out being completely in love with it but after subsequent sequels (Halo 2/3), I lost a little bit of love only to regain that love with yet another sequel/branch off in ODST. It’s not unlike most relationships I guess. Remember my letter to Bungie? So right now I’m in a good state of love for Halo but will that change with the introduction of Halo: Reach this year?

To be honest with you I’m really worn out on the way Halo looks now. I want something different now if I’m going to be subjected to constant spinoffs and prequels of a story I already know. Make it look different, give me different enemies, give me different weapons…give me a new way to experience Halo. And I’m not just talking about behind the eyes of a new character because it’s just a new character in the same Halo.
Anyway, new information has come down about Halo: Reach and its appearance in Game Informer. Bungie plans to take Halo: Reach back to what we experience more or less in Halo: Combat Evolved. It is a prequel afterall. I’m not excited about that. They’re bringing the shield and health system from Halo: CE back and getting rid of both spiked and flame grenades.
More details:
* Reach follows a squad of Spartan II and III troopers known as Noble Team. Noble Team is an assembled group of expendable troops who fight on the frontline and seldom return from battle. This particular Noble Team is different however, earning themselves a fearsome rep after surviving numerous engagements.
* You’ll obviously still fight the Covenant, but they’ll appear as a new threat as Noble Team are unfamiliar with the race. (okay so we’ll just pretend we haven’t fought against them I guess)
I guess only the beta this Spring will tell the real tale. I’m interested to see what the fook this is all about.

All I can is, IT BETTER BE GOOD.

I think I have a lot to say on this, but it hasn’t come into my head yet lol. Anyway, one thing I think Halo needs to improve it, is elements i.e. fire, water etc. The Rock/Paper/Scissors system of power versus range is old, 2 dimensional and very boring now.

yeah i mean shit ya know…i’m really tired of going back, going forward, going pre-back lol. and then it all stays the same really…just a new character skin you play behind.

BLAH, I’m pretty sick of Halo as well. It’s getting old, they better do amazing on this, because if they don’t I won’t be picking up anymore Halo games lol.

I had some basic ideas that this wouldn’t include Master Chief which have now been confirmed. Also I saw some spoiler shots and now know what the weird needler thing was in the spoiler images.
The DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) sounds like it should be a great weapon to get to grips with not so sure about the Needler Rifle though.
I noticed nothing has really been confirmed about the actualy gameplay, like if it squad based like CoD and Gears of War, or whether it’s still you on your own. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.
I know a lot of people want new weapons and enemies, but the whole series of Halo games continue from each other, so unfortunately there isn’t going to be a real amount of change in them forms. However the story in campaign mode may make up for that, who knows.
All I can say is I am quite looking forward to a new Halo campaign to play though. I found ODST was a real let down, campaign wise and multiplayer wise. Thanks for the update Deac. Bring on Reach!

yeah, new weapons are a must. and not just a Halo 3 weapon that they slapped a silencer on. that being said, just rounded up my last achievement on ODST the other day so i have Halo 3 and ODST 100% now (i still refuse to play Halo Wars).

Awesome stuff x352x pH. You can do Halo Wars in 1 day if you do it with a friend. The levels don’t take as long and it’s also a lot easier.

Halo sucks ass… it needs far deeper gameplay to be good & different from the boring old point & shoot.

I wish Bungie would develop a new game engine for Reach. That alone could give the game a new look and feel.

is it gonna be on the Crackdown 2 disc again? lol
January 15th, 2010 at 11:46 am
lol nope it’s on the ODST disc.

I DONT want new weapons and enemies. It would mess up the whole prequel thing. Maybe bring back old ones like the CE Pistol but yeah. Anyways I really don’t care I love each one of the Halos.

No offence mike but it’s a first person shooter, and the last time I checked they’re mostly point and shoot type games. If you prefer RPG elements then stick to Borderlands or Fallout. Halo isn’t a RPGFPS. Oh it doesn’t suck just because you don’t like it either. Constructive feedback works a treat
