Medal of Honor Goes Modern War
I’m happy to hear that the Medal of Honor series is making its return to consoles and even more excited to see that it also has shed the World War II setting in favor of something a bit more “modern”. I guess the boys at Infinity Ward inspired a turn in one of my favorite franchises.
On December 12 at 8PM PST, Spike TV will showcase the first appearance of this game. It’s due out next year.

For the first time in the franchise’s 10-year history, Medal of Honor is leaving the WWII theatre and putting players in war-torn Afghanistan. It will introduce the Tier 1 Operator: a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle.
Medal of Honor is being built with a best-in-class single-player campaign. I’m pretty excited to hear about this part. I’m a single player guy to the heart. The team at EALA will handle the single player and the fine folks at EA DICE will handle multiplayer duties.
“EA has always been an advocate for telling the soldiers’ story. The new Medal of Honor follows that tradition. We felt it was important to tell the story of today’s war and today’s elite soldiers via today’s most relevant medium – videogames,” said Sean Decker, VP and General Manager of EALA. “We are so proud to bring together two powerhouse development teams to make this game a reality; EA Los Angeles and EA DICE. Medal of Honor promises to be an unforgettable entry in the modern shooter genre.”
What say you?

I liked the Medal of Honor series but I think they waited too long to go “modern”. Call of Duty currently has that locked up! But we shall see.

EA doesn’t make very many good games… I doubt this one will break the mold.

EA doesn’t make ANY games really they just produce them. But I was a huge Allied Assault fan. The franchise went downhill after that.. I hope for best for this one. It would be nice to see Medal of Honor back in the fray.

We’ll see how it turns out. DICE has got way to much on their plate IMO. I’d rather have them focusing their attention on Battlefield 3 (hopefully they officially unveil this soon).

I thoroughly enjoyed some of the older games on the OG XBOX, hopefully this’ll be just as good. Don’t know how it’ll stack up against MW2 though.

Sounds awesome, I have had just about enough of WW2 lol. I love this series and can’t wait to see what they do.

DICE does NOT make Medal of Honour. They make the Battlefield series mates.
This is their only exception. Usually MOH has always been an EA exclusive development only.
I had heard rumours they were going to do something like this the moment I heard they were doing a play test/study of a pitch relating to Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan.
I’d be curious to see how they do this. It should give IW a run for its money.
