Xbox Fall System Update, November 17
Those of you who don’t already have the Fall system update to your Xbox 360, prepare for it on November 17. On that day you’ll be able to enjoy Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm with the rest of us jolly old farts. I haven’t used much of either application but I’m sure there are plenty of you who just can’t wait to abuse the new things.
One interesting thing about these new additions is that you actually have to download them. So if you don’t really want Facebook and Last.fm on your console, then you don’t have to download them. Twitter doesn’t require a download so you can access it from the Marketplace immediately. Now keep in mind that Facebook and Last.fm will be installed but in order to use them you have to download the application.

I just thought I’d let you guys out there know about this because some of you might prefer not to even bother downloading. I know there are some sticklers out there who will opt not to.

I will download these to check them out. I like the idea of facebook if they limit the nonsense like surveys and quizzes LOL.
Deac, I know you’ll want to play Mafia Wars on Facebook on the 360 LOL!

lmao the good thing is that all those facebook apps aren’t implemented.

I’m still unhappy about Twitter on the 360 not supporting TwitPic or any other pictures from Twitter. That totally blows.
I’d have to say I’m most excited about getting Last.FM back. I used that a ton on my old console.
Deacon, you got a medal for the MW2 console? I sold my Red Elite so I’ll trade up my medal if you’ve got one.
November 13th, 2009 at 1:32 pm
nah no medal for that one because i don’t have the console lol
November 13th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
LMAO @ Deac
I told you not to sell it Hazy. Deac you must remove his medal! LOL

Since I’m in the beta, I’ve already used them to death on my 360, but when it comes out, I’m looking forward to the thing that tells you which of your friends have a facebook. That seems cool.

okay, for facebook, microsoft was originally promoting all kinds of features such as the ability to post in-game things like videos and whatnot to your facebook and so far in the preview none of that has come to fruition. all it is so far is that you can post your status from xbox and comment on other people’s status…. thats it.. no messages or inbox or anything. i mean when i heard no notifications or fb chat im like ok w/e but c’mon even an itouch can do more shit on fb than my xbox right now. what gives? are they going to fully release
ALL of the features come the 17th?

p.s.- last.fm is pretty legit for when you’re writing a paper or something and just want some background music

No, don’t expect to see your Inbox or Chat on FB for 360. The screenshot feature is in there, it’s just not visible now as no games support it. I think MS just makes it available as a tool for devs to use and we may start seeing it in early 2010.
