Splatterhouse Screenshots (2010)
There shouldn’t be a person around who hasn’t played the classic version of this game. Growing up I knew for sure that this is where Friday the 13th was born. When I played it, I was a bad ass Jason Voorhees running around killing people…at least that’s what I thought. But even if the reality was it wasn’t the masked dude from the movies, it was still a hockey mask wearing dude kicking ass.
Namco is doing a remake of it and from the screenshots below, it looks pretty good. Inspired by the landmark 1988 arcade hit, Splatterhouse combines visceral, adrenaline-soaked combat with horror elements to deliver an original gaming experience that defies the boundaries of the traditional action category with over-the-top gore and shocking new gameplay mechanics.

Gamers will be confronted by horror and gore on an unimaginable level as you take on the role of Rick, a college student possessed by a bizarre terror mask. Bent on saving his girlfriend Jennifer from horrific otherworldly creatures, Rick must obliterate a path through massive legions or nightmarish creatures.
Splatterhouse pulls no punches, taking gore and shock value to the next level with physics driven fluids and organs flying in all directions. It’s coming sometime next year so you have a while to decide if you’ll be splattering it up I guess.

I remember playing that game aloooong time ago. I didn’t even know a new one was coming out. Should be pretty cool, with updated graphics.

The best graphic seems to be the one Deac put up. The others looks pixelated somewhat. I know it’s a far way off, but I’d figure the images would be crisp. What was the original game about?
