I didn’t think the new art style was going to work with this game and I surely didn’t believe Gearbox Software’s claims that there were millions of weapons included but I’m happy to report I’m a believer now. The game looks great and the weapons are crazy. I was shooting all kinds of sniper flame rounds, exploding acid rounds and there are even health rounds that you shoot and heal your team with!
During the Borderlands panel at PAX there were a few things I found out that blew my mind even more. It may not seem like a big thing to most but while you’re driving vehicles in Borderlands, you can switch seats without having to stop/start. Yeah you can do a Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome seat change move while the vehicle is still moving.
You can check out a little bit of Borderlands from PAX in 60 right here. Another thing is that you can actually battle someone from your own team in some serious “two man enter, one man leave” style gameplay. I saw it during the panel and proceeded to nearly shat myself. It was indeed pretty cool.
I hope the game can live up to my now overwhelming anticipation of it.

Good read. I’m really interested in The Saboteur and Shank. Also glad to see that ODST didn’t feel like “just another halo game”.

well the PAX shirts weren’t a contest
and my favorite of the show was probably Dante’s Inferno. that game was NICE. followed up closely by The Saboteur and Split/Second.

Actually, except from borderlands, all those games looked “meh…” to me. I have not checked on them for a few months though and I guess they have got better. But sometimes, games that looks good aren’t and those who don’t are master piece. Wet was one that looked great, but the demo left me totally emotionless.
