Best of PAX 2009

As with every event I attend, I like to offer a recap of what I felt was the best of the event.  I did a Best of PAX in 2007 so here we are now for the Best of PAX 2009.  These are the games I had a chance to play and thought stood above the rest at this year’s Penny Arcade Expo.

Split/Second
Developer: Black Rock Studio
Publisher: Disney Interactive Studios
Release Date: March 1, 2010

Split/Second

From the makers of PURE comes one of the most exciting racers on the Xbox 360.  Split/Second is likely going to be the one racing game that people talk about next year.  It was “pure” unadulterated, excitement!  Visually it was incredible and it made an even bigger splash with its gameplay.  I literally caused massive amounts of destruction just to create my own route during a race!  In a split second, you can target another racer and create havoc (and a new route) by destroying bridges, streets etc.

Black Rock Studio is on a tear with kick ass titles for the Xbox 360.  Split/Second was a complete thrill ride for me.

Good read. I’m really interested in The Saboteur and Shank. Also glad to see that ODST didn’t feel like “just another halo game”. :)

Deacon, there is a glitch in your site, I can’t get the page for Forza 3′s “Best of” nomination. You might want to fix that…lol

Actually, except from borderlands, all those games looked “meh…” to me. I have not checked on them for a few months though and I guess they have got better. But sometimes, games that looks good aren’t and those who don’t are master piece. Wet was one that looked great, but the demo left me totally emotionless.
