Batman: Arkham Asylum Demo Friday, August 7
It’s time to take control of the dark knight! This Friday Eidos is releasing the demo for Batman: Arkham Asylum and I don’t have to tell you that I can’t wait! I’m ready to be the Batman in a way that hopefully will be amazing. The game has looked the part with all the videos I’ve seen. Now the question is whether or not it’ll play the part. On August 7th we’ll all get to find out!

This is fantastic! they should honestly release a demo for every game at least a week before they come out! because for us its great to try the game out and for the Developers they would make more money if the games good because they could make a ton more sells!!

eidos must have a winner on their hands if they have the balls to put a demo out pre-launch … although now that I think of it, they have a pretty strong track record of doing this …

I hope it’s Dark Knight quality goodness and not Batman and Robin ( lol bat nipples).

See, not one little mention of Square-Enix on the box. I told you they wouldn’t be like that when they took over Eidos. You will only get quality now, and I’m saying that without the least bit of bias for Square Enix

I’ll have to check this out. Based on the game footage I’ve seen, it still reminds me of Sam Fisher with a cape and cowel. But hopefully it will be good.

Ah crap! I completely forgot about that and pre ordered it from another place….. :’( Hopefully it’s one of those in game codes that everyone can use like what they did with far Cry 2.

Hopefully it is a different demo than the one I’ve had on my PS3 demo machine in my store for 3 months. It is fun, but I’d like to see what some of the single player stuff plays like. Also, as usual, Mark Hamill really does an excellent job on the voice of The Joker.

yeah, just played the demo this morning on my ps3. really good graphics. controls feel smooth when doing counter attacks. love doing glide attacks from above.
I may have to reserve this. ( I’m trying to save for a ipod touch but hey it’s batman lol )
Gamestop has the scarecrow level and the ps3 version has playable Joker.

Here are a few features i found for anyone on the fence about buying this game.
PS3 Version
Able to play as The Joker in eight Challenge Map which will be released as downloadable content on August 25th on the PlayStation Network. This DLC will be free.
There will be a “Batman Arkham Asylum Batcave Outpost Apartment”. Apparently, this will be only for PlayStation Home. It will contain items such as the Batsuit, Batmobile, and Batwing, along with various Bat-gadgets. This content on PlayStation Home will be free.
The comic book “The Road to Arkham” will be given to PSP owners via download on the PlayStation Network. This comic will be free but will most likely NOT be able to be read by your PS3.
The PlayStation 3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum will use some elements of SIXAXIS Motion Control.
btw, I was thinking of getting the special edition but I learned that the batarang is just for show. it’s attached to the base.
I found some fan made batarangs on ebay for way cheaper. 12.99
I’ll just pick up the game and that for show.

Well, thanks to jet-lag, I was up at 2:15 this morning (PST) and played BAA. I had a lot more fun than expected. Until I get the next, delayed installment of Splinter Cell, BAA will fill my stealth needs nicely.
