Gears of War 2 All Fronts Collection & Dark Corners
COG Town represent! Who’s ready to get back to taking down those pesky Locust Horde? Epic Games released their latest downloadable content for Gears of War 2 today. The All Fronts Collection (1600 Microsoft Points) and the Dark Corners (1200 Microsoft Points) are available to download today.
The prices are pretty steep but if you’re going to shell out the points, it makes much more sense to go after the All Fronts Collection because it includes every multiplayer map released thus far plus everything in Dark Corners!

Seven (7) brand-new multiplayer maps are included in the Dark Corners add-on as well as a deleted campaign chapter called Road to Ruin.
Allfathers Garden: Honor the sacred grounds of the Coalition founders in this explosive map, where powerful weapons catalyze fast and furious action at this COG landmark.
Memorial: Set near the Eternal Flame, which pays tribute to the fallen soldiers on the battlefield, a hard-fought battle ensues at the Tomb of Unknowns. Put your flank formation and evasive skills to the test as you fight to control the Boomshot.
Sanctuary: Once a peaceful ground for reflection and remembrance, all that remains of the Sanctuary is the chill of death. Feast your eyes on the arsenal of weapons available as you make your way through the tight paths and blind corners of the Locust-damaged temple corridors.
War Machine: In the abandoned train station that once served as a hub for travel, you will need to master the Longshot, Mulcher, and Boomshot weapons to advance the fight while evading fire from the platforms above.
Highway: Take the fight deep into Locust Hollow in the complex passages of this underground highway system brimming with enemy vermin. Stick together, separate the enemy and have an exit strategy ready or it’ll be a one-way trip.
Way Station: Sitting in limbo between death and “processing” are Locust way stations filled with fallen COG soldiers. Tread lightly and practice patience as it’s better to sacrifice firepower for stealth while navigating this minefield of hidden grenades.
Nowhere: Set in the middle of what was once a destination for weary desert travellers, the land is now barren and devoid of life. Pick off your enemies with the Longshot sniper rifle and make your way to the stairwell with a well-fortified team during this intense firefight.
With the All Fronts Collection it’s all 19 Gears of War 2 multiplayer maps (Allfathers Garden, Canals, Courtyard, Flood, Fuel Depot, Fuel Station, Gold Rush, Gridlock, Grind Yard, Highway, Mansion, Memorial, Nowhere, Sanctuary, Subway, Tyro Station, Under Hill, War Machine, and Way Station) plus the deleted campaign.
I suppose if you already have most of these maps, then Dark Corners makes more sense. Who’s ready to get back to COG Town with me?

Just downloaded the All fronts this morning
Kinda wish you could just download the Road to Ruin chapter by itself, without the multiplayer maps intact, maybe for like 400 msp?

lmao! XD
I loved Gears 2 but sold it about two months ago…. That was when I lost my job and when I had to repair my 360 again so I was pissed, it wasn’t cause I hated it… O_O I don’t understand how that game is so laggy still and it’s been out for a while, epic is really laughing to the bank on this one. I pray that they take their time on Gears 3. /pray

I don’t play online that much but if I had the points and the time I would check it out.
@ MikeWarrior – Why so much hate??? Had your gallon of Haterade today?

I’m sorry I know you guys love your add-ons but I for one am getting sick and tired of this trend. This is just another way for the companies to bilk us out of money, and charge us for things that should have been included in the original. The amount of people settling for this really frustrates me, bc if people declared with their pocketbooks that they weren’t going to pay for this they would stop doing it. And if enough people complained or protested (again with their pocketbooks and/or through web-blogs with big followings (ahem deacon) instead of promoting these add-ons (ahem deacon) we might just see more content included in our already pricey $60 game.
The standards for game content has been lowered so much that you know the developers have some of these levels and add-ons already completed when the game is released but they figure they can make more profit by sitting on it and releasing them slowly. Especially if you include some of the add-ons for games that include earlier add-ons that you had to pay for. So why buy the first one and instead wait for the larger and fuller content add-on. As i am sorry to say i am probably going to break down and purchase the 3rd add-on for Fallout 3 bc it contains level ups (although only 10 more which i think sucks)!
Sorry for the long rant but i don’t like where this is heading: for my pocketbook as well as what fans should expect from developers.
BRIKZ OUT

i am but a mere fledgling in this big battle of downloadable content. some i agree with, others i don’t. i’ve complained many times (and still do when i don’t agree with it) lol. but as you can see…the millions of people who don’t mind are much bigger than you and i. i wish more people would decide not to on most things but they do….and that makes the battle that much harder.
take DJ Hero and the other numerous Activision Hero games. is it stupid? of course. will people buy it anyway? yes, of course. rinse & repeat.
DLC can be done in a way that is acceptable. it’s just that most companies don’t care because they know for everyone like you, there are thousands/millions who will pay.

This is an awesome deal if you haven’t been a loyal fan and already bought all of the maps. In that case it’s kind of a rip, yeah I’ll probably end up getting the Dark Corners but I wish I’d have waited now to buy the other maps. I am doing that with Fallout 3 though.

My brother got it. It’s such a good deal though if you don’t have the other map packs.
