Gears of War Armor for Avatars, COG Town!
It’s nice to see the first glimpse of actual game inspired items for our Avatars. The crew over at Joystiq posted Epic Games’ showcasing of full COG and Locust armor sets at Comic-Con to be available for Avatars soon. I’m not sure if these will be part of the new Avatar awards or if they’ll be premium items to be purchased. Chances are you won’t be playing Shadow Complex or Gears of War to unlock these so prepare for shelling out some Microsoft Points.
I have to admit that they look pretty good. I doubt if I’d purchase them but I can imagine millions will. Who doesn’t want to see their Avatar representing COG Town? The one thing that I’m perplexed about with these Avatars is their posture. They just don’t stand right in my book…way too much hip action for my guy. But maybe that’s just me.
Who’s ready to unlock or buy some Gears of War armor?

That is very cool. It is good to see that we will be getting more game related content for our avatars.
I also can’t wait to get my hands on the Halo 3 ODST avatar armor.

Still waiting the announcement of NCAA football/bball jerseys. Give me Mizzou football and basketball jerseys and you can have all my monies. A little St. Louis Cardinals/Blues attire would rock as well. Can you imagine avatars decked out in NHL sweaters or NFL uniforms?

Holy sh@*! I didn’t even think about sports jerseys. Come on, EA. I’d gladly pay 4 bucks for a University of Oklahoma football jersey.

Very cool. I would not pay for clothing for my Avatar, but if I can unlock this or get it free my Avatar will be sporting some armor.

@hazy do they have jerseys for oklahoma? I thought those boys just rubbed some mud on em and carved out numbers… lol i too would pay for jerseys and I know the nhl license agreement would be cheaper than the nfl or ncaa football….cmon microsoft gimme the pens

Wow Deac, thanks for that pic of the COG armour! Looks badass!
As for the ODST armour, it was shown off at E3 when they were first showing off the avatar marketplace.

Please don’t mention how much you would be willing to pay for the jerseys. Especially to EA. Hopefully they will keep it reasonable, with 80 points for shirts. The 320 for a RC warthog is too much imo.
