IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey could be a very interesting title coming our way on September 15th and I don’t mean because of the interesting name the series has. Birds of Prey is taking environmental and landscape visuals to new bounds by incorporating actual satellite technology to recreate the geography. They’re also using a tangible damage effects engine that they say will show real-time damage to the planes as you take it…holes in the wings, trail lines in dogfights etc.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey features the greatest aerial battles of the Second World War, and boasts the most realistic landscapes and aircraft seen in any flight game. Players participate in the most famous confrontations of the era piloting fighters, battle planes or heavy bombers across a range of daring and action-packed missions.
There are six theaters of war in which to engage – The Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Berlin, Sicily, the Battle of the Bulge and Korsun – representing the main airborne battles of World War II in Europe. Unlock more than 40 planes, all faithfully recreated in amazing detail, and pilot them in breathtaking air battles and daring bombing runs spread over 50 campaign missions and four multiplayer modes.
I’m hoping this can perhaps ease my cravings for another Crimson Skies. Let’s go 505 Games and Gaijin Entertainment! What say you?

Since playing “Air Superiority” in 1943, I’ve really taken a liking to air combat. I’m even thinking about giving AC:6 a chance. If this turns our decent looking, I’ll have to give this a go too.

Could this be at least close to become a Crimson Skies sequel? We’ll have to watch it closely.
The Air Superiority mode in BF1943 just made me remember the old Baa baa Black Sheeps TV series.
