Army of Two: The 40th Day, Rios & Salem Reinvented
Two of the Xbox 360’s most memorable characters, Rios and Salem, are making a sort of reintroduction with Army of Two: The 40th Day. For the most part they’re still the same but a lot has been done to the two characters to give them a new, more kick ass look. They’re no longer bulky, robotic, Jason Voorhees wannabes.
EA Montreal is keeping fans up to speed on the game and its characters via their blog. Ronald Yatco, Community Manager at EA, dished out a pretty cool Q&A with Character Art Director, Roderique Pralier. Rios looks like a psychopath and Salem is still the “pretty boy” of the crew somewhat.

Here’s one of my favorite questions and answers because it highlights a pretty cool feature in the game.
Ron: So a discussion about characters can’t go on any further without talking about our favorite PMC’s, Salem and Rios. Will we see any changes to the appearance of these two?
Rodrigue: Definitely, one thing that we changed a lot since the first game is the main characters. For example, Salem and Rios never removed their masks when you were playing with them, so a lot of people felt that they were just robots without a lot of personality. So now we have a new feature when you are not in combat mode or not fighting, they remove their masks and you get to see their faces as they interact with each other.
Check out the rest of the Q&A over at the Army of Two: The 40th Day blog.
