Xbox.mobi, Mobile Access to Xbox
Color me really surprised to have learned about this little gem. It has been available in the United States since late 2007 but because I haven’t really had a cell phone worth having internet access on, my mind was oblivious to the awesomeness that it is. If you’ve ever wanted a convenient look into your Gamercard and other Xbox 360 news while you travel with your cell phones or wireless devices, then Xbox.mobi is hereby crowned your saving grace.

It’s an extensive mobile Web site designed for Xbox fans internationally to access on their wireless phones or devices. Xbox.mobi offers fans exclusive videos, ringtones, a current games catalog, news updates and “My Gamer Card,” a personalized area for dedicated Xbox gamers where they can see their friends’ stats and challenge other gamers via their mobile phone to a game on their Xbox system.
RSS feeds also provide information on a range of subjects, including current HD movies and premium content for Xbox LIVE. I just bookmarked it on my G1 and checked a few things out like my Gamercard. It was super cool and perfect for my G1.
“Xbox.mobi provides us with unique possibilities for expanding the brand on the mobile channel and reaching our key target groups,” said Julie Lynn Southard, digital direct marketing manager for Microsoft. “The magic really happens when we connect what is happening in mobile across social networks and traditional media such as print, in-store and on-pack and give our gamers access to Xbox content, even on the go.”
Once only in the US, Xbox.mobi is now available in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy and the UK. So all my international Xbox heads can now dig into some mobile Xbox glory. You can call me late to the US party but it’s better late than never right? And besides, it’s a first internationally.
What say you? Are you going to carry Xbox mobile now on your cell phones?

I found this site by accident recently. I had the Microsoft Tag reader on my iPhone and took a picture of the tag on the back of Halo Wars. It opened my browser right to Xbox mobile. Pretty cool stuff.

It really is. I do have a favor to ask of you though. A friend of mine got a G1 and I need some good tips and tricks for her. She has no idea how to use it.
Maybe good apps? How do you get video on it? Types that are supported? Anything will help. Thanks, man.

I have an iTouch and had no idea! I’m gonna see how it works.

I looked at it and it works pretty well, but I sill prefer the regular site on my iTouch because it just has more options on it. One thing I noticed is that there’s a section called “tier”. Anybody know what that means? It says I’m a 6.

pretty cool. now they just need to make a gameboy you can play the arcade games on!

i wanted to grab an iTouch once…but didn’t.

and i have no clue about the “tier” thing. but my Gamercard on it looks cool

@hazy, well the G1 has an app store that is pretty useful. read the comments and decide which is best for her is my suggestion. i’m not sure how to get videos on it. they use a special format so any existing movies she has will have to be converted and simply moved over via USB computer connection.

I’m a tier 6 .. whatever that means … site does work good on my new 32gb touch but like Spartan said the actual site is still better … a great recomendation for games is Zombieville USA (2 dollars) and there are a ton of free apps and demos (called Lite’s) to try as well Hazy …

I checked a few people’s gamertag’s, and for some reason I think everyone is listed at Tier 6. Must be another flawed concept like the stars on a gamertag.
And yes, iPhones and iTouchs are awesome

Just got a XV6900 Touch from Verizon an this was one of the first sites I tested out on my new phone. I’ve even added small gamer pics of some my friends for display of their picture for dialing.

good call Josh. you’re probably right.
July 20th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
I’m from the UK and I’m tier 6??
July 20th, 2009 at 7:31 pm

I’m a tier 6 (Cheshire, uk) and so are some of my friends English and American, the only person I know who isn’t tier 6 is my best mate (GT:Vimty) who’s a tier 3, he’s really good though
maybe it has something to do with skill?
