SEGA’s Vancouver 2010, Official game of the Olympics
Here’s a nice and very much needed change of pace for the Xbox 360. I must say that I’m looking forward to this game to exercise my non-athletic dreams and more importantly my non-Olympic competing dreams. I give you SEGA’s Vancouver 2010, the official video game for the Olympics. Of course the only bad thing about this is that we actually have to wait until 2010 to get our hands on it.
Why tell us now you ask? Well because like I told you, I want to live out my dreams of being an athlete and Olympic competitor! How else can I do that without the game? So come on SEGA…bring it!

“Vancouver 2010™ will set a new standard for the Olympic-themed video games genre,” commented Hugh Binns, Director of Eurocom Development Ltd., developers of Vancouver 2010™. “With the innovative first person mode to immerse players even more in the game, an all new challenge mode providing hours of entertainment and stunning high definition graphics, Vancouver 2010™ will be a fantastic experience.”
SEGA has a few screenshots posted here so you can feel the winter. There’s even a teaser trailer set up on SEGA’s blog to peep.

Will they ever stop making these sub-par Olympic games?

Looks like it has a lot of potential- especially with that first-person angle cribbed right out of Mirror’s Edge, which was one of the best things about that game. They do have more ‘fun’ sports to work with for the winter games, like skiing, snowboarding, and bobsledding (because shot-put, running, swimming, etc. aren’t all that fun in a video game). Too bad it’ll probably suck anyhow, but here’s to hoping SEGA proves me and pretty much everyone else wrong!
