WCG The Ultimate Gamer on Sci-Fi
I’m not sure what to make of this Sci-Fi reality show that brings the “reality” spin to the gaming world. Tonight marks the debut of The Ultimate Gamer which is part Survivor, part Real World and part Big Brother mixed with a gaming twist. It starts at 9PM Central and will air each Tuesday. I hope the show does well and hopefully open up the door to a real spotlight on gamers.
In WCG ULTIMATE GAMER, 12 top gamers from around the country live together and battle one another in a series of competitions that take them “beyond the game.” From real-life challenges inspired by top-selling games to head-to-head elimination matches before hundreds of screaming spectators, the last gamer standing after eight grueling weeks will have survived gaming’s ultimate test and will be called the best all-around gamer in the United States.
You can check out the host of contestants on the show at the link above. I’m not sure how they were picked but seeing names like PMS Clan and Frag Dolls gives me a pretty good guess. At least one of the hosts of the show is hot. So who’s planning on tuning in to this? Are you interested in finding out who the “ultimate gamer” is?

Ultimate gamer? So they wil find a gamer that is as good in Halo as in Roogoo, or as good in Bioshock as in Street Fighter?
Can’t see these ultimate gamers letting anyone watch them being kicked hard on national TV…
Of course, you can imagine those crying moments “it’s just that I suck so much in that game … buuuuu”, so reality TV lovers get their satisfaction, but not us.
Ultimate bore, that’s what I’ll say.

i don’t think they’re really looking for the ultimate gamer but rather seeing how ratings will be for a reality show based on gamers.
