Kane & Lynch RPG? Square Enix bids on Eidos
I know the title sounds ridiculous and no one could imagine a Tomb Raider based in the Final Fantasy realm but the news of Square Enix buying on Eidos forced me to play fortune teller. Or perhaps maybe we’ll see a Kane & Lynch: Dead Men & Dragons?
I suppose the fine folks at Square Enix really want to shed their JRPG clothes and attach themselves to something more “western”. Eidos as you know has published a lot of franchises including the Tomb Raider series. So although it’s a big surprise, I can understand Square’s bid for the nimble Lara Croft. More and more publishers/developers are being sucked up than ever before. Midway has now gone under in bankruptcy and it won’t be long before Rockstar feels the pinch. Perhaps the gaming industry needs a bailout?

I love Square Enix, they’re my all time favourite publisher/developer (taking up quite a big part of my game collection). The more games with their name on, the better for me. It’s been annoying me though, seeing people complaining about incompatibility between the two. Any fan of either company should know that they’ve worked before already anyway. Eidos published Final Fantasy VII and VIII on the PC.

@Pimp, well RockStar was on the verge of being bought by EA for a reason. with their stupid new strategy (which is much like Midway’s), i wouldn’t be surprised if they are the next to tank.
