Yeah, I would be excited if there were new achievements and A NEW Co-Op board, but just releasing vs. on boards you have already played a million times, doesn't make me want to put it back in my "Q".

Although i am interested in seeing what survive is.

When a game is hot, why not charge for the content? If consumers buy it, then it is justified. If gamers stopped buying extra content, prices would drop or cease to exist all together.

L4D has lost it's momentum for sure. I am not being bamboozled by Valve's generosity. This is simply a means to regenerate interest in the game and justify a sequel.

This is just my opinion but i think they force things if its still a "alive" game if you know what i mean

games that are "dying" is probly when they allow the developers to decide if its free or not in hope that people will come back to the game

because Left 4 Dead is a fantastic game but has only few levels and after awhile gets boring

Well, Valve has said in the past that they were being forced to charge for TF2 content. This might have been allowed to be free due to the fact that it's just 1 new game mode and 2 campaigns that are already a part of the game.
