Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X Demo Ready to Fly
I suppose Ubisoft is ready to give Ace Combat a run for its money. Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X has a demo for you on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. You can load it up right to your queue with this link. And if you didn’t know, H.A.W.X stands for High Altitude Warfare eXperimental squadron. Flows off the tongue eh?
Demo Details
The demo is co-op enabled for up to four players—jump in or jump out with ease. Gain experience points to unlock three real, licensed planes in the demo: a F-16A Fighting Falcon, a SU-35 Super Flanker, and an AV-8B Harrier II.
Play through two heart-pounding missions in the demo. In Operation: Off Certification (Training mode), learn the skills of an elite pilot in “Assistance Off” mode and pull extreme maneuvers.
In Operation: Glass Hammer (Rio De Janeiro), take flight over GeoEye technology (the world’s best satellite data), and witness Brazil like never before. Learn to use the Enhanced Reality System in “Assistance On” mode, where your plane’s computer calculates the best interception course for you to follow to attack an enemy, evade a missile, or hit a ground target.
You can look for the full game next month if you enjoy the demo. And this one is an Xbox 360 exclusive as well as a Gold member exclusive. So if you have a Silver account, you’ll have to just chill out on the ground while Gold members take to the skies.

I like the new link right to the q feature. That helps a lot, bc i never remember what demos to download after i read this and fire up the xbox hours later. ALthough i won’t be downloading this one, i hope this feature stays for others.

I just finished playing through the demo twice to unlock all the planes and it is really fun. I’m looking forward to trying it again to check out the 3rd plane. It looks more powerful and faster.

H.A.W.X. demo > Ace combat 6 demo. The co-op is nice and so is the Assistance On mode. But the best part was playing with the Assistance off and it was nuts!!! I play the demo at P.A.X. last year but this one is much better.

While I haven’t played the demo yet, I did notice that it took all night to download. Typically, it only takes a few minutes to download a demo of 750MB. Could this have been because so many people at one time were downloading it?

I just finished the demo and really enjoyed it. I had forgotten how fun air combat games can be. I’ll be picking this one up.
