Xbox & Netflix, Million Member Friends
One million Xbox 360 members use the new Netflix movie service option provided by the NXE. Not only that but the Xbox LIVE community has watched over 1 billion minutes of movies and TV episodes through the instant watch Netflix service. Yeah that’s a whole lot of minutes.
I haven’t really dug into the Netflix option because I’ve been unwilling to dish out the funds for another monthly fee. For those of you who are looking to try Netflix on the Xbox 360, keep in mind that you’ll have to have a Netflix subscription as well. The price on that is around $9 a month. It’s not expensive but it’s still another monthly fee for what I’ve heard isn’t a great collection of movies.

No matter the selection though, it appears that Microsoft and Netflix have yet another bag of income to dip into. Are you a Netflix subscriber because of the NXE? Thanks for the news BostonPimpDaddy.

I really enjoy the Netflix service through the 360. The selection is growing every week. There are shows from the 80′s and 90′s, and even current shows, like Heroes. I currently have 250+ items on my instant queue. I probably won’t watch them all, but they are there just in case I have a craving to watch one. Currently, I am getting caught up with Doctor Who, of which they have the first three series. I plan on getting caught up with Heroes also.
Unfortunately, you can’t check out what’s available for instant viewing unless you have a subscription, but if you know someone who has one, ask to check out what’s available.

I had it for awhile but after the first week I could barely get two bars and the shows looked like garbage. I have a 15mbps download so thats not the prob. Ill stick to HBO and my cable.

I wish Nextflix would hurry up and open up business here in Canada; I’d subscribe the first day they opened for business.

I did the trial and had a great time watching some movies I wouldn’t have found in the video stores – and as entertaining as it was, I can’t see my connection holding up against the test of HD downloads. Unfortunately, that’s the current state of affairs and doesn’t seem to want to change any time soon. At any rate, once I get a connection with more bandwidth, I’m stuck with renting DVD’s the old way. Thankfully, Redbox serves our area here in Charlotte, NC and I can get a new-release for only a buck (or free, if I have a code). That’s tight!
