360 Gains An Exclusive, Southpeak’s Section 8
It’s not over until she sings but the fat lady continues to make her trips to the local music studio for singing lessons. She’s preparing for what continues to be an uphill battle for Sony and its PlayStation 3 console. SouthPeak Games’ Section 8 will only make its debut on the PC and Xbox 360 this year.

Section 8 allows players to dynamically alter the flow of combat as they see fit. Employing tactical assets and on-demand vehicle deliveries, players are given unprecedented strategic control over epic sci-fi battlefields. It’s a first person shooter that’s said to pack a lot of punch. Doesn’t that sound cool? If you own an Xbox 360, you’ll at least get to decide for yourself.
Why did SouthPeak and TimeGate Studios decide to can the PS3 version? Who knows but you can chalk it up as yet another developer opting to go the way of the 360 exclusively.
Thanks for the head’s up Pilex!

I love it, classic Tortoise and the Hare all over again. The 360 may not be as powerful, but always wins the race – eat its dust PS3.

I said awhile ago, when game developers start seeing the majority of their game sales go to the 360, they are going to want to develop for the 360 FIRST.

The console with the biggest user base, best tools, and easiest to develop for is going to draw the most support.

well the economy isn’t helping these decisions for the ps3 either. The gaming industry is feeling the squeeze as well, it’s just easier and cheaper for some of these companies to use their budgets on developing for the pc and 360 with their current team and taking the profits from it, rather than adding extra people to code for the ps3.
