Thanksgiving Gaming Guide
Most of us are preparing to consume large amounts of turkey, stuffing, dressing, cranberry sauce and large amounts of pie this week. Tomorrow I’m going to enjoy some family time on Thanksgiving Day and I wanted to leave my famous Thanksgiving Gaming Guide to assist you in properly implementing some gaming during the day. This method of proper gaming on Thanksgiving Day actually begins late night tonight as the preparation for the feast begins.
Wednesday, November 26th, 9PM – 11PM
Mirror’s Edge – Take to the rooftops as Faith to sharpen your reflexes. You’ll need to be fearless and aware so that you don’t miss any of the gravy that tends to slip underneath the turkey or any of the sweet potato pie crust. Playing this game will get your senses ready.

Dead Space – How exactly can you prepare to carve, cut and slice your way through the various meats on your plate without practice? Isaac Clarke and a collection of Necromorphs will do the trick. Slice training is at your fingertips in Dead Space with an assortment of limbs and Necromorphs to dismember. You’ll be a carving champion before it’s all said and done.
Wednesday, November 26th, 11PM – 1AM
Gears of War 2 – In order to put the finishing touches on the preparation, you’ll need to work as a team. You’ll need someone to grab the cakes out of the oven, someone to chop of the potatoes for the potato salad and someone to monitor the turkey among other things. Horde Mode will test your team skills so that your time in the kitchen will be a breeze. If you can survive an onslaught of Locust Horde as a team, then making turkey day entrees as a team will be cake. COG Town!

Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, 10AM – 2PM
Need for Speed Undercover – Every holiday needs a driver doesn’t it? Every holiday needs someone to play the pick up guy (or girl) for those family members who just can’t seem to get there. Need for Speed Undercover will get you ready for some serious speed behind the wheel because speed is definitely what you’ll need to play cab driver for the family. Once you get past the loading times, you’ll be able to race your way as an undercover agent which should get you ready. Of course I don’t expect you to drive like a video game allows you to, so be smart about it.

Scene It? Box Office Smash – Your family is in town. Your In-Laws are in town. That cousin who just shows up to eat is also in town. You’ll have to be quick on your feet to answer any ridiculous questions that a family gathering tends to produce. Scene It? Box Office Smash tests the very depths of your brain with trivia and at the same time will sharpen your short term & long term memory recall. Who can answer how the marriage is going now? You can. Just remember not to bring the Big Button Pads to the table to buzz in for any questions.
Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, Feasting
Now that the Thanksgiving Gaming Guide has prepared you for the event, it’s time to get your turkey on. Sit back and enjoy what you’ve accomplished. Let your family marvel at your new skills of speed, reflex and knowledge. I take no responsibility for how well or awful you do during the course of this guide. And I surely take no responsibility for any meal disasters that may occur.
Happy Thanksgiving Day and happy gaming from yours truly!
