NXE Arrives, Marketplace Online & More
Today is the day that the world has been waiting for (at least those who didn’t already have the new Xbox experience). Those of you who are connected to Xbox LIVE should have gotten prompted for an update this morning and after the update you should have been welcome to the NXE. The new Xbox experience has arrived and a new era of Xbox 360 entertainment begins. I’ll break down the most important features (or the ones I’ve received the most feedback on) below.

Quick Feature Recap
Xbox LIVE Marketplace Online – Queue up downloads wherever there’s an internet connection via Xbox.com. No more waiting until you get home to grab the latest demo or latest picture pack. You can queue it up and have it ready to download when you next sign on to Xbox LIVE. You can read the FAQ on how to properly do this here.
Deleting 0 Gamerscore Games – The strangest feature but one that several people have asked for finally comes. All those nights of playing games you really had no interest in and no Gamerscore in can now be corrected by deleting them from your profile. Just hit the Guide button and locate “Achievements” option. You’ll be able to delete them from there.
Netflix - Instant HD streaming is here! Although the movie selection has been severely handicapped with Columbia Pictures removing their catalog, it’s still an awesome feature. You won’t be able to do any party viewing until next year though. And remember, you need at least the $8.99 Netflix subscription to enjoy this. And yes, everyone will have to have a Netflix subscription so no movie sharing with your friends who don’t.
Party Chat – It’s fun joining a party with friends and maintaining that party wherever you go. The coolest thing about this is that when you check your friend’s list, you can see each Avatar that’s in the party. The first time I saw a group of Avatars just chillin’ I laughed pretty hard but eventually joined the fun.
Guide Button – If you get stuck finding things in the NXE, simply press the new Guide. It has everything you need to get to quickly. You can Redeem Codes, change Themes, check Friends, Quick Launch a game, access Marketplace, change System Settings etc.

I downloaded the NXE before I came to work. Got to build my avatar a little bit but looks cool so far!!

I kind of wish that the avatar creation was more customizable like the wii creation. The clothing feature is pretty nice though!

Yes! Deleting 0 point games is great.

I did not know about the delete 0 gamerscore option. That’s awesome!

Although I’m biased, I have to say the ‘Community Games’ is one of my favorite features.
My fav hidden feature is the increase in the ‘download queue’. Originally, 6 max, I have queued up 16 and haven’t maxed it yet.

I love being able to install these games to the 120hd. 360 doesn’t sound like a Boeing 737 taking off from the runway anymore now

Does anybody know if the Netflix movies are captioned or subtitled? (In English.) The regular marketplace ones are not as far as I know, unfortunately. I’ve been waiting forever for this to happen.

I’m glad it’s finally been unleashed to the Xbox 360 world. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

I really love how the friends list works with the avatar and the party system now. Overall I have no complaints about this at all. And as more optimized themes come out it will look even better.

The party chat feature is simply AWESOME! They just need to add a kick/ban option (they already have a kick, but people can re-join at will…
that sucks when they’re really annoying and won’t shut up)
Big shout to Dangerdoll for the Hardcore Horde session we rocked out on last night. Hopefully, we won’t have to hear from McLovin’ any more.

The NXE is great! You’ll have your chatty haters on this and that but the new UI is slick, quick, and practical.
“Hey looks, i pressed the media button and it popped up immediately”.
Love it.
