Veteran’s Day, Big Shout to Military!
Today is Veteran’s Day and I wanted to send a personal thanks to all the men and women who have served our country and those who are currently serving. It’s a great honor in my opinion to give a part of your life to protect the freedoms of this country both domestically and abroad.

I spent several years in the United States Marine Corps. I was a Devil Dog. I can honestly say that without those years I may not have become the man I am today. They were some of the best years of my life not only from a discipline standpoint but also from a personal one. I gained some lifelong friends while in the Marines and learned plenty of the things in life that I still live by to this day.
Honor, Courage and Commitment. They are Marine Corps values but should be human being values. God bless the members of the Armed Forces not only today but each day throughout the year. If you didn’t know, some of your fellow gamers are serving in the military or have served. TriXie posted a special Veteran’s Day shout on Xbox.com to get you familiar with a few of them.
Once a Marine, always a Marine!

Thank you to all of our Troops and veterans! It would be impossible for us to enjoy the freedoms that we have today without the sacrifice and commitment of our armed forces. Thank You to all who serve and to all who have served!

Wow! I didn’t know you are a Marine. I have a couple of friends who are also Marines. Thank you Deacon. I almost joined the Air Force when I was 18, but I had an attitude that prevented me from losing the 20 pounds needed to join. Looking back, I wish I had lost that weight. I would be in a different position at this stage of my life.

Here in Canada we call it Remembrance Day and I believe the solemn sentiment of the occasion is perfectly captured by “Lest we forget”. Thank you to the troops around the world fighting (and who have fought) to help protect our society so that we may continue to improve it.

My dad was in the Navy and my uncle was also a Marine. I got to tour my dad’s ship and it was a blast.
Funny, whenever I say I would like to travel to Tokyo, etc. he tells me to join the Navy.

Thanks for posting this up Deacon and I’d like to say a Special Thanks to all who Serve & Protect us or have Served & Protected us too. I think its really cool of Xbox.Com to honor those as well like this. I’d love to picture a World where we wouldn’t need Forces like this and can only Hope & Pray that those who are Serving, all have a safe return home to your families & friends.

Always remember: “Former Marine” not “Ex Marine.”
“Happy” Veteran’s Day, Deacon. I don’t know if “Happy” is the proper adjective, but… you know… whatever!

“Honoring those who serve” We keep all of our armed forces and their families in our thoughts and prayers on Veterans Day, but also on the other 364 days of the year!
I’m a Veteran, having spent 8 1/2 years in the Navy and serving in the first Gulf War in 1990/91. Lots of time on a carrier and on the sand. The thoughts, notes, prayers and great wishes from citizens of the U.S. got us through and the same holds true today.
Consider going to http://www.anysoldier.com or other avenue you can find on the Internet and write a armed forces member a letter of thanks, send them a CARE package or whatever. Notes from anyone from around the world lets our people know they’re cared for, even by someone they’ve never met.
