NXE, Warning for Torrent Users
I figured I’d pass some information on to the few of you who may have downloaded the new Xbox experience from one of those infamous (and stupid) torrent sites. You will not be able to access Xbox LIVE until the official launch of the NXE. The official launch is November 19. Even those of you who think you’re clever by moving your NXE hard drive to a friend’s console to download it in hopes of hooking your friend up will cause that friend to be unable to access Xbox LIVE.

So my advice to you is to simply wait. If you need a fix then you can always read my impressions on the NXE.

waiting won’t be too tough considering there is so much to do in the upcoming weeks

I was soooo tempted when I first heard of this (I even downloaded the update to my PC) but held back after hearing that you may not be able to connect to Live. Good thing I waited with Gears coming out tomorrow!

NXE is sooooooo coool! <3 it!
I was lucky and i saw Major Nelson posting about Microsoft Connect and the possibility to have the preview, it was midnight here and fortunately i was in front of my pc!!! i am lucky girrrl
BUT, i think people can wait 12 days, nxe is cool but it’s not vital!I would not have died without it

So let me get this straight, you can’t remove it after updating through torrent?
And I want to be sure I can connect to Live after the 19th =\

on the 19th you’ll be able to connect to LIVE.

Then I might just install it a day or two early. =]
You seem like a trustworthy source.

Well let’s see
Pros:
-you could’ve gotten it as much as 3 weeks earlier
-access to all features (ripping to HDD makes load times a breeze and my pirated games that occasionally got disc read errors from using $1 dldvd’s now get none!)
Cons:
-No online 360 gaming for a few weeks. Since I think it’s a ripoff to pay for XBL as every other gaming network service EVER as been free and I still have no good reason to pay for it. COD4 almost convinced me but LAN parties suffice. I’ll just enjoy CSS and TF2 on pc for free
-guilty conscience?
Thankyou M$ for NXE. Seriously, this is saving me serious money. Since “play from hdd” fixes all my disc read errors, I don’t have to spring for Verbatim dvd’s and can be a much more efficient, freeloading pirate. Yay!!!
Now I’m off to play games like GOW2, Fallout3, GTA4 and countless others weeks before they’re ever released!!!

I’m not one to get into this type of conversation, but did you need to flash your drive for that?
Or does it work just by burning a disk and putting it in?

Just 7 more days!
