Memory Upgrade Solutions for NXE Update
I don’t know if you’ve received word or not but those of you with an Arcade console may not be able to download the Fall Update next month. That’s right, some of you may not have enough space to enjoy everything the new update will provide.

“While you can connect to Xbox LIVE using an Xbox 360 Memory Unit with 128MB of available space, you will not be able to enjoy all the great features like Xbox LIVE Primetime and video downloads.”
Microsoft has release a Memory Update program that will give those who qualify two options to get the needed space. You’ll have a choice of a refurbished 20GB hard drive for $19.99 or a free 512MB memory stick. Click here to access the Memory Upgrade Program. You’ll have to enter you Console ID and serial # so that Microsoft can determine whether or not you have sufficient memory.
I do know that there are some issues with the program currently that have had some users incorrectly billed as having enough space. I’ll try to find out what’s going on with that.

they billed me as having enough space too. but i had my xbox from someone else. who bought a core system.
he DID buy an HDD 20 gb afterwards, but i gues microsoft notices that too ? i would’ve liked a 512 mem card to transfer my savegames to my elite.

Oh oh… now all core and arcade users have a month to get this offer so they can get into live after Nov 19th. As it’s mandatory, they will be left out of the system if they don’t have the memory or the drive available.
I think it will be a hassle by using the memory cards. You will have to leave it always connected so the 360 can access the data at all times.
Well, as they say, nothing comes free. What do you think, Deacon?

well the $20 hard drive is a steal. even the memory stick but it just reminds me of how useless the Core actually is and how much it hinders development.

I think these are good bargains, refurbished drive or not.
I still just wish I had the funds to ‘upgrade’ to an HDMI console. Still not getting the full 1080p out of my TV (stupid VGA limitations on my Toshiba).

I have 60 gig but all my saves are on the 64mb MU, only game patches and such find their way to the HD.
