Zune, Gears of War 2 Edition

The Crimson Omen takes hold of Microsoft’s Zune mp3 player!  In celebration of the sequel to one of the best-selling Xbox franchises of all time, Xbox and Epic Games Inc. have collaborated with Zune to create this unique portable media player.

The Zune Gears of War 2 Special Edition is based on the new Zune 120GB device and features a laser-etched Crimson Omen on the new gloss black enclosure, collectible Gears of War packaging, and 244 pieces of Gears of War media including the original game soundtrack, behind-the-scenes videos, game trailers and concept art galleries.

“This special edition Zune is a great way for Gears of War fans to carry around all their music and videos while sharing their enthusiasm for the game,” said Michael Capps, president of Epic Games.

I’m planning on finally getting myself a Zune next year in January.  I’m not too keen on this one so I’ll probably end up getting a Zune Original 80GB.  But those Gears of War heads out there should be all over this one.  The Zune Gears of War 2 Special Edition will be available on November 7th and it’ll cost you $279.99 for both US and Canadian fans.  You can pre-order it now at Amazon and Walmart.

Oh that looks really sweet looking. :) I sure love my Zune and can see an upgrade down the road in a few years perhaps.

I hate the Zune, but I have to admit, this is VERY sweet. GoW seems to be the next Halo, with all the marketing extras coming out.

Looks cool, but I’ve moved on to iPod. The Zune software gave me so much trouble.

Too bad iPods never have any really cool special editions. It’s too much trouble to have to get used to new software and what am I going to do with my iTunes songs???
