Flashback - Genma Onimusha
Before the likes of Ryu Hyabusa and Dante graced the inner workings of the Xbox, there was another bad ass sword-carrying dude named Samanosuke. He did his work in a game called Genma Onimusha. As a lone swordsman, he battled legions of demons and warriors on a quest to rescue his princess. Yes, Samanosuke was dealing death via magic and sword action before everyone’s “other” favorite ninja and bad boy.
This was the first game from the PlayStation lineup that really hooked me when it came to Xbox. Capcom does fighters very well it seems. I loved killing the assortment of nasty looking demons and then absorbing their souls. The coolest part was having to battle for green souls with the demons around. It was like a tug-of-war battle of “no, that’s my soul”. The game looked beautiful especially in the backgrounds. Samanosuke was very detailed himself along with the demons in the game.
Bosses were huge and fun. The puzzles were nice. It was just a really cool game that I’d love another go at on the Xbox 360. That’s why the Next-Gen Meter wish on Genma is Hell Yeah. I know about Ryu and Dante but don’t tell me there isn’t room for another stud. Give me some more Samanosuke especially with the issues Ryu is having.

This game was great. I replayed it from start to finish earlier this year.
I would love to get a new Onimusha game on the Xbox 360.

This was the first game I played on the PS2 and it drew me in. I got it for the Xbox for 2 bucks. XD I hope they make a next gen version with Samanosuke! Matter a fact they better………

One of the main reasons why I have a B/C capable Ps3… To complete the series to games like MGS/Silent Hill/DMC/Dues EX/Red Faction & this one, along with games like ICO/Shadow of the Colossus/Maximo/God of War… #3 of the Onimusha series is the best by far.
Too bad you don’t have a B/C playing Ps3 Deac. :p

lol i guess so Mike. i loved this series. not so much the one with the Professional guy in it though.

Yeah that game was sweet. If they did make a new one, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a PS3 exclusive.
