I Ain’t Bustin’ No Ghosts?
So, who you gonna call? Could it be no one? Reports running around the interweb suggest that Activision has decided to either can or severely delay the release of the Ghostbusters game. You might ask yourself what Activision has to do with a game that Sierra Entertainment was behind but I’ll have to remind you of the merger between Activision and Vivendi forming Activision Blizzard. Sierra Entertainment was within the Vivendi umbrella. (ella, ella, ella)
Whenever there is a merger, things like reorganization and refocusing always happen. It’s inevitable to make changes that often includes layoffs, shuffling development houses etc. I hope this isn’t true because I was ready to bust some ghosts.

A lot of folks are going to be severely bummed out if this game goes the way of the Dodo.

Apparently some Sierra rep. said it won’t be cancelled. Some sites are reporting that it just doesn’t have a publisher now. So I’m not sure what the deal is. They better not cancel it because I’m looking forward to playing it.

Oh no! A game I’m not able to buy now, guess that means my funds are free for some other title now. I just can’t buy everything that comes out. I’m playing Mass Effect now, yes just now and its a rental only. I just don’t have the funds an have to pick an choose. Rent and buy used is my only option. What sucks is I have at least 4 to 5 co-workers, if I could get them all to buy something different an we swap around it would be better. That hasn’t happened yet though.

no publisher doesn’t bode well.

“An Activision representative later confirmed for GameSpot that those would be the only Vivendi Games franchises coming out of the publisher. That leaves a number of high-profile projects in limbo, including Double Fine Productions’ Brutal Legend, as well as Wet, Ghostbusters, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, World at Conflict: Soviet Assault, 50 Cent Blood on the Sand, Zombie Wranglers, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, as well as several Xbox Live Arcade titles.”
I won’t miss 50 cent LOL. But Ghostbusters, Riddick, Leisure Suit Larry!

Not publishing Ghostbusters would be like denying multiple large trucks filled with $100 bills – Who would be dumb enough to do that?

I really liked the preview I saw @ E3 for Ghostbusters. Would be too bad if this game never saw the light of day
I don’t know if a Ghostbusters III movie would work ???
