I suppose an eye patch wearing hero can indeed make a difference in hardware sales much moreso than any foreign gangster could.  Metal Gear Solid 4 helped the PlayStation 3 pull off its largest monthly win to date over the Xbox 360.  MGS 4 was the highest selling game for the month.

The PS3 managed over 405K consoles while the Xbox 360 registered 219K.  And yes, the Nintendo Wii continues to be mind bottling as it takes over the US lead in consoles sold.  I don’t expect the temporary price adjustment on the Xbox 360 to be a big enough catalyst for Microsoft in the coming months.  A permanent price drop and a more aggressive one should happen.
