It just took some time for the legitimacy of the word. I am pleased it has become accepted now...the word that is...not the fanboys themselves. Fortunately, I do not ever see a time when the term is not derogatory in nature. The word "fangirl" need not be considered. I think calling a female a fanboy is an acceptable use.
