Too Human’s Denis Dyack says “Man Up Haters”
Why Denis why? It appears that Silicon Knights President and head honcho on Too Human, Denis Dyack, has decided to open the floodgates of hell by calling out the members of the NeoGAF message boards. Fueled by a soaring amount of negativity surrounding Too Human, Denis apparently felt it was time to call out those who are “For” and “Against” his title. Stand and Be Counted.
“I think it is time to draw the digital line. Too Human will be out in August and I think there is going to be a lot of trolls crying here. Either way when the game comes out this forum will likely be on fire. So in order to try to put it out some gasoline on this fire I will ask those interested to stand up and be counted…” (see full quote below)

Assuming that it is indeed Too Human’s Denis Dyack, I have to wonder what is wrong with most of the developers these days who feel the need to be defensive about their games? Is the art of letting your work speak for itself lost? Considering the type of “critical” people that NeoGAF houses, I wonder even more why a developer would even bother. And yes, the folks at NeoGAF have already torn Denis a new one calling him the “King of Trolls” among other things. Again, why bother?
So why Denis why? You’ve only managed to increase the pressure for Too Human to exceed not only your expectations but those of some extreme NeoGAF members who quite honestly may not even purchase your game to begin with. The art of researching your audience has apparently been lost. Remember Mitch Gitelman? How about Microsoft’s Jeff Bell?
Nothing good ever comes out of a developer or corporate executive ”going on the attack” so to speak. I wonder what the PR folks at Microsoft are thinking about this. Freedom of speech is one thing but freedom of speech at NeoGAF is an entirely different monster.
Too Human’s Denis Dyack calls out the haters:
“I think it is time to draw the digital line. Too Human will be out in August and I think there is going to be a lot of trolls crying here. Either way when the game comes out this forum will likely be on fire. So in order to try to put it out some gasoline on this fire I will ask those interested to stand up and be counted.
I feel Too Human is a great game, likely to be better than most that will come out this year. I certainly feel it is the best game we have ever made. I also believe the press and gamers alike will believe this. This puts me in the “For” camp.
I know there are many who feel strongly in opposite camp. I also would ask you to stand up and say “Against”.
When the game is released and everyone plays game all the speculation will be over. If I am wrong and gamers in general think the game is “crap” then I am comfortable with getting tagged “Owned by the GAF”.
However, if I am right and it is received well, I would like to see those “Against” to be tagged with “Owned by Too Human”.
I would like to make a honorary invitation to EvilLore and Duckroll who help fuel the fire on a regular basis – assuming you both would be “Against”. In the end though, it is your decision and I want to remind everyone that I have an advantage of actually playing the game.
I invite anyone who seeing someone trolling Too Human in other threads to point them here.
So it’s time to be stand and be counted:
Denis Dyack - “For”

x2 with why bother Deacon. especially on NeoGAF where they’re known to be full of pricks.

it’s been confirmed it indeed was Denis Dyack and not some poser.

I honestly haven’t been to NeoGaf until this posting, and I must say that I was not impressed.
As for Denis, he has always been ‘outspoken’ and speaks of his dreams of a ‘one console’ future causing a utopia.

same here GreenLantern4. haven’t wasted my time at all on Neo in ages until Deacon’s post just now. it’s really a collection of wasted complaining.

meh x1000 for another developer thinking NeoGAF matters at all to the other millions of people with intelligent thought.

June 26th, 2008 at 11:58 am
i don’t know if i’ve ever seen a game that’s been on as weird a ride as Too Human.

He needs to define “recieved well”, also he sounds like a real douche bag to be blatantly honest.
June 26th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
LOL. What a tool.

I love how he thinks that we trust his opinion because he has played the game….Of course he’s played the game….No one trust his opinion because he made the game. By posting comments like this he is just spending the bad publicity even future.
