Call of Duty: World At War Site & Trailer
Are you ready to experience the South Pacific and European theaters of World War II? I know you’ve all seen it by now but it’s my duty to share the hotness (or what I deem the hotness) with everyone else. I had my doubts about heading back to a World War II setting but after reading and seeing more of what Treyarch has in store, I’m warming up to it!
I do want to give a quick head’s up on the official site for World At War, www.callofduty.com. You can head over, get registered and see the amazing job they’ve done with the site. There’s a really cool avatar system in place that I had fun with when creating an account.

“With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools – like co-op and the flamethrower – to succeed in the epic fight.”

yeh we’ll see. COD3 looked good but hard absolutely the worst online and the story was so short. We’ll see.

well they’re using the COD4 engine so naturally it should look similar. it’ll be the gameplay that sets it apart…good or bad

Well, I’m a bit torn. Do we really need to go back to Russia and Germany? I love the idea of fighting in the South Pacific, but the other areas have been so overdone. How about Africa instead of Europe?

Looks like they have several kinks to work out on the new site. Started with telling me I could transfer my CharlieOscarDelta account – but no joy. You then create and save you avatar – but it doesn’t appear (I think it mentions it will change when you rank up..but so far no way to do that either). Then tried setting and saving preferences only to be greeted by a blank page when submitting…. clicking to view a profile leads to a 404 page… and so on… ah yes, the joys of a new site roll-out

yep quite a few issues with the new site. hopefully they’ll get it ironed out.

The one issue I had from viewing the trailer is it looks like treyarch scrapped the CoD4 animation system for players. The people have choppy movements.

well it’s still in development so i’ll ignore that right now.

CO-OP FTW. that’s some good news. I think that Co Op should be as standard as Multiplayer. As far as I can remember and I’m going on my very bad memory. ONly the Medal of Honor Series has really touched on this part of WW2 at least in the mainstream gaming. I think they’ll have a good opportunity to improve on what has been done since it is fresh and new to them. They’ve definitely got a good thing going just hope they keep it going.

I can’t tell why bing sent me here but I must say I am now quite captivated by the content you have together. How long did it take so many arriving to your site? I am new to this web site stuff.
