Gamesaver Comes Clean on his Cheating
Ever since Microsoft decided to hand out some rather embarassing punishment for those out there who have cheated the Gamerscore system, it’s been a stir across the internet. If you remember an earlier post here at U360, cheaters were branded with a virtual Scarlet letter “C” for their cheating ways. I don’t understand the need to cheat at games or boost your score. Virtual bragging rights on who has the biggest virtual set of “pecans” is nothing of interest to me so you’ll never find me cheating. I can haz gamesaving skillz?

If you’ve ever wondered how this whole thing erupted, then prepare to wonder no more. I was sent this story by JD Buck a few weeks ago of an admitted cheater who contacted JD. It’s a story of a gamer surrounding his involvement in “gamesaving”. He drops dimes on other cheaters and the process behind the cheating. I thought it would be an interesting read for you guys and girls. I’m sure Microsoft is well aware of the “circle” and if not, then I hope this does some good to rid the Xbox 360 of this gamesaving nonsense.

Wild indeed I have 29,000 and I have played over 200 games lol but did it myself with the kids playing also. But a good read though as the whole 360 should read this.Maybe 30,000 in the next few months

An interesting read but it somehow has the smell of a bit too much BS added for drama. I agree that people who cheat should get whatever MS dishes out. I also agree who cares what your gamer score is really? I mean I have seen gamers hop into a room with a high GS only to really stink at a game.
Gamers simply need to remember why we all play games to begin with to relax and have fun with friends. I have met some great people on XBL. Good read Deacon but I think the intentions are not as sincer as he makes them out to be.

Very interesting read. What makes the whole thing so pathetic, is that GS is useless, yet people cheat to increase their GS. Gamers have certainly forgotten what gaming is about. They put too much emphasis on achievements and GS.

Holy Hell Batman! I never thought that this “gamesaving” was that big. I mean I will not lie, back when I played PC games, sure, after I beat the game I would use the unlimited ammo and god cheats, but that was all SP……………lol Never on line. some of you on here know that I RARELY play Live.
Never thought that achievements and gamerscore meant that much to people.
If I wanted bigger “junk” I will go out and get the biggest truck out there…………lol thanks for this article Deac.

I don’t have the desire or time to read that all blog, but I got through a few paragraphs, and all I have to say is…what a bunch of fucking losers.
Someone who sits home all day and plays games is fine with me, I don’t think that person is a loser at all, they’re doing what they like, and that’s all anybody should do, but when someone just sits there and finds all these complex ways to cheat, then you’re a loser and need to find another hobby you can actually take part in without cheating.

Gamerscore and Achievements don’t mean anything of value on a widespread level. It’s more of a personal level for me. I like when I EARN and BEAT a certain part on my own. The Gamerscore is nothing more than a point value for all of these. But my 2900 compared to Thumps 29000 doesn’t give him more status then me, he doesn’t get special treatment in areas, discounts for stuff. It shows he’s played a lot more games than I have and played a lot longer than I have. I earned mine and he earned his. Now if others with high scores cheated to bump those up, then they are really cheating themselves is all.

Hello all, I just wanted to thank Deacon for posting my article here, and I appreciate the comments. The more I learn about these people who go to so much effort to cheat, the deeper and deeper it gets. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback directly from some more of the cheaters telling me there are many more ways than just the ones Shuckey told me about. There are aftermarket tools and devices sold on websites for the purpose of adding gamerscore, which even though I have a lot of points, I know holds no real value. It seems it would just be easier to play the games and have fun with them. There’s no prize at the end of the day for having the most points.

That was a really intresting article. I remember using the Game Genie in the past but never though people got that into the gamerscore thing. Thanks for Posting it Deacon, very informative read on a slow day at work.

Very interesting topic I was one of the original people who was on the xbox forum about this topic and it is very surprising to see Shuckey confess and actually reach out to a member of the community just really surprises me. JD Buck very nice article

@Mocha Jive. Yes, I remember you in there in that discussion. I think I even played some GRAW with you later. I was really surprised he picked me of all people to spill his guts. If you remember, he and I completely disagreed with each other on the subject. When I saw that he sent me 10 messages last month out of the blue, I was expecting the worst until I started opening them. Thanks for the comment.

Yeah I remember Graw that was a blast but yeah I am sure you thought the worst when he started sending messages that fool sent me tons and I am sorry he has no respect for women (he attacked me on that forum and in messages he sent to me via xbox live and his little followers too). For someone in the Video game industry to actually confess to something like this has to be so embarrassing personally and career wise but he deserves it in my opinion.
