This just in….Brett Favre has officially put an end to the so-called Madden Curse. He’s been selected as the cover boy for this year’s Madden NFL 09 and because he’s retired, it’ll be literally impossible to have a football injury. Well, he hasn’t actually turned in his retirement papers so there’s still a slight chance that this “curse” will get him.
Peter Moore dropped the news to fans on his EA Sports blog today. It’s an awesome selection and a fitting end to an incredible career. Even though I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan, I’ve always enjoyed watching Brett Favre play. I still remember him being drafted and announced as Brett “Favor”. And I wonder if he’ll actually be playing Madden NFL 09 to replace playing on Sundays?

Ah yes, it makes a Packer fan’s heart warm to know that our IronMan, Brett Favre is the Madden 09 cover! Great way to “end the curse”, save a young player’s career and reward a fantastic QB!
Now us Packer fans can see Brett everyday when we startup Madden 09! Great job EA and congrats to Brett Favre!

I can’t think of a more deserving person for the nod, he made football a blast to watch. I’ll miss him this season.

As a hardcore Packers fan, this makes me extremely happy to see. Still sad to see him retire though. The Iron Man could’ve gone a few more years and possibly made it back to the Super Bowl.

Glad to see this and sad to see him leave the game. Haven’t seen the Inside Live clips yet, but looks like TriXie has those ready now.
