Star Wars: The Force Unleashed in September
It’s been a while since I had an update on this game and there’s no perfect way to bring news than with a release date for it! It’s set to release on September 16th according to LucasArts. You can check out a developer diary I posted a while ago just to remind you of how awesome this game could be! Be the Sith I will be! Wait for this game, I can not.
An entirely new chapter in the Star Wars Saga, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice” and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The game’s expansive story is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist Vader in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi – and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.
“Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is one of the most ambitious projects LucasArts has ever launched. The combination of a great new Star Wars story with revolutionary new technology and game play means more fun than you’ve ever had in the Star Wars universe,” said Peter Hirschmann, Vice-President of Product Development, LucasArts. “We can’t wait until gamers get their hands on it this September.”

I can not wait for this game. This and Aliens: Colonial Marines are the two most games on my wait/want list.

Looks like it should be a lot fun. I saw a video that shows you get to play at least art of the game as Vader. I’ll try to find a link to it.

I am a little concerned for this game. While the Jedi Knight series was awesome and the use of force powers never got old for me, I am worried that the use of FP in this new game might be a bit over-the-top. If there is a balance between light saber, weapons and FP, then it should be amazing. However, if FP becomes too dominant to quickly than the game might get boring very fast.
