Although I’m out of commission during the day for the time being, that doesn’t mean you won’t get any goodies.  The Deacon challenges continue as we put the shine on the “other” guy from Texas.

What inspired the gamertag TXPaladin?

I use to play AD&D as a kid and I liked the Paladin class, later on I played Diablo II and the same class was my fave. I’ve always used the nick Paladin on various sites and in some cases I added TX, being from Texas. Paladins’ are good knights and I like to think of myself as one of the good guys too. It’s also tied to the Knight on a Chess board and one of my favorite games of all time.

Can you give us an idea of what your world is like outside of gaming?

I’m happily married and a father of two lovely girls (future Gamerchix). I’m a Director of Websites for the American Paint Horse Association. I love photography, all kinds of music, watching movies, reading and lately writing too. This past fall I wrote my first draft of a 50,000-word novel as part of the 2007 NaNoWriMo.

What has the experience of being one of Deacon’s Deadly Blades (DDB) been like for you?

I’ve played with quite a few friends from ex co-workers to current co-workers and then members of the DDB & U360. I’ve had some of the best times and some of my best games with the DDB. It’s a good feeling to go in with a group and work as one and to do this over and over again. Best of all, it’s all about fun and we treat each other with lots of respect. Plus a lot of the DDB guys are just great and I’d rather be on their side then go up against them.

What types of games do you enjoy playing the most?

I really like all kinds of games, provided they are good games to start with. I prefer to play First Person Shooters and I’m a huge Halo fan. I like team based games and playing online with friends. It’s been a blast and I’ve just about wrapped up my first year on Xbox Live and looking forward to many, many more to come.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever heard on Xbox Live?

Hmmm, in CoD4 I just took someone out and he said, “You mother $@#%^!, you just stopped my kill streak!” I calmly and quietly replied back, “Well… sometimes you just have to go now” and everyone in the game busted out laughing, including the guy I took out. Next to that would be some of the stuff said in a Halo 2 or 3 pre-game lobbies and I can’t repeat any of that stuff here.

In your opinion what was the worst game ever made? Any Platform…

Beautiful Katamari on the PS2, first time I ever saw it or played was on the PS2. Just a crazy game if you ask me and I don’t see the point in playing it. I got the demo on the Xbox 360 and I still don’t see the big deal in it.

If you could be a Superhero what kind would you be and what superpowers would you have?

Someone with powers like Hiro Nakamura from the show Heroes and have the ability to use the space-time continuum to help others would be cool.

Do you play to have fun, Gamerscore or Achievements?

Mainly for the fun and the enjoyment of the games. I like to complete the campaigns in a game as much as possible. The Achievements are cool and it’s nice that it’s tied to an overall Gamerscore, but I don’t go out of my way to get everything or try to boost my score.

Of all the games you have what do you think was the easiest achievement you have earned? The Hardest?

Create-A-Player in Madden NFL 07, it was so simple to do and I’m not a huge sports gamer at all. The hardest would be finishing the campaign on Call of Duty 4, I ran into a hard part near the very end and thought I’d never get past it. I finally did and completed the game.  Wow it was a blast and a great game. Now I want to go back and play at a harder level.

We have another Texan against Texan showdown! You against DeaconBlade 360. What game are you playing and who wins?

If I picked a game that I think I could take him on, it would be CoD4. I think I have more time invested in that game and it would give me the advantage over him is all. Deacon would more and likely take me in all other games played though. He’s played a lot more games than I have is all.
